Roving Performance

Encounter a curious cast of roving performers this summer!

Come face to face with a curious cast of characters from ERTH, ICARUS, Neisha Murphy Circus, Deep Sea Astronauts, Trevor Brown Music and more, as captivating performance artists engage in lively roving entertainment around the museum.

Enjoy encounters with larger than life deep sea divers, a majestic water dragon puppet, a juggling octopus or a stilt walking jellyfish. Sing along with sea shanty singers, tap your toes to the beats of brass bands, get your own sailor -style temporary tattoo painted while you wait to board a vessel. Spot trickster seagulls hiding around our site, chase gigantic bubbles or take a 3 minute holiday in the elevator in our rotating program of free daily performances.

PERFORMING ARTISTS

PUPPETRY - ERTH

Come face to face with spectacular puppetry creations by the acclaimed ERTH theatre- slow-walk with deep sea divers, pat baby plesiosaurs, get up close to a fearsome Kronosuarus or a majestic water dragon.

CIRCUS - NEISHA MURPHY

Meet a juggling octopus and a cast of swashbuckling characters brought to life by variety superstar Neisha Murphy.

PHYSICAL THEATRE - ICARUS

Australia’s premier roving entertainment company, Icarus present their playful street theatre and stilt-walker acts, Seagulls and Beach Patrol.

Take a 3 minute holiday as artists use mime, props and physical comedy to invite you to dip your toes in the sand take a playful trip to the beach.

MUSIC - HORNUPTOPIA BRASS TRIO, MARBLE SEA SHANTY CIRCUS DUO

Sing along to sea-shanties and tap your toes to brass-band beats by the Hornutopia Brass Trio and Marble Sea Shanty Circus as they rove around the museum.

DANCE - DEEP SEA ASTRONAUTS

Be dazzled by daring creatures and quirky costumes as you dance along to the silly, synchronised and spectacular creations of Deep Sea Astronauts

PLAY - BUBBLE ART, TEMPORARY TATTOOS, INFLATABLE CHARACTERS

Explore art and science in action as you chase gigantic bubbles, have your own sailor-style tattoo or sea-sparkle glitter painted on or have a photo with our dancing lighthouse.
