Dr Julia Reisser is an ocean scientist with a PhD in Plastic Pollution. She has published 25+ scientific articles to date, with her research been ranked in the world’s top 10 highest-scoring articles in 2015 and 2018. Julia is now doing a part-time MBA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation to complement the skills she gained from more than 15 years of experience setting up, managing and leading research programs for universities, start-ups and foundations, including The Ocean Cleanup, Australian Institute of Marine Science and Minderoo Foundation. She is currently an Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia and co-founder of Uluu: a start-up developing ocean biomaterials for healthier people, seas and climates. Julia loves Olympic weightlifting, running, diving, dancing and travelling. She has been part of many scientific expeditions in the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian and Antarctic oceans, but the Arctic is still in her ‘missions dream’ list. |

Tim Silverwood, Ocean Impact Organisation, is an award-winning environmentalist committed to reducing human impacts on the natural world. A keen surfer, Tim became alarmed at the risks plastic pollution posed to our oceans and wildlife, co-founding the not-for-profit organisation Take 3 for the Sea in 2009. |

Jeff Hansen is the Managing Director for Sea Shepherd Australia and a Director for Sea Shepherd Global. Jeff joined Sea Shepherd in 2006 to pursue his passion for marine conservation and protecting the natural world. Serving as a crew-member on two Antarctic whale defence campaigns, Jeff was instrumental in locating the illegal whaling fleet on both occasions. |
