Explore the museum at your own pace on a self-guided visit to the museum galleries and HMAS Vampire

A self-guided visit gives teachers and students the freedom to discover the museum independently and in your own time.  

Includes access to:

  • permanent museum galleries
  • special temporary exhibitions
  • HMAS Vampire

If you would like to board other vessels during your self-guided visit, please enquire at the time of booking. 

 

Curriculum links

Self-guided visits allow you to tailor your visit to suit your learning outcomes and students’ interests.

All activities in the self-guided resources are linked to Australian Curriculum outcomes. 

Additional information

Worksheets are designed to be printed double-sided, on A3 paper.

Please bring your own pencils for completing the student worksheets.  

Teacher resources include exhibition information, Australian Curriculum links, wayfinding and answers for student activities. 

Cost

$12 per student  or included free with any other education program

Free for teachers and supervising adults within the required supervision ratio.

Discounts are available to schools with an ICSEA score of 800 or lower. 

Accessibility

This program includes access to the main museum building, along the wharves and on board HMAS Vampire.  

  • There is ramp and lift access to all exhibition spaces within the main museum building.  
  • Wheelchair users can access the wharf with assistance.
  • Unfortunately, HMAS Vampire is not wheelchair accessible.

Please indicate in your booking enquiry if anyone in your group has additional support needs so that we can ensure everyone has a positive experience at the museum.
