Self-guided visits include access to the WWII exhibition Secret Strike - War on Our Shores, which explores the Japanese midget submarine attack on Sydney Harbour on 31 May – 1 June 1942.

Students will be able to see the stern section of Japanese midget submarine M22 and voice pipes from the HMAS Kuttabul, in addition to historic images and firsthand accounts of the attack.

A free curriculum-linked worksheet for secondary history students is available in the exhibition, or you can print your own copies and the teacher guide to help you prepare for your visit.

Secret Strike - War on our Shores

This exhibition, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II features the stern section of the midget submarine M22 and voice pipes from the HMAS Kuttabul. It explores the raid and includes historic images of the aftermath of the attack and firsthand accounts of the impact the raid had on ordinary people’s lives.
