Big blue conversations
The Australian National Maritime Museum is the proud home of Big Blue Conversations at the intersection of conservation, science, research, commerce and technology.
(useContext node terms)
As our world grapples with the best way forward, innovation, imagination and collaboration are the keys to success.
The Museum offers a unique meeting place for big blue ideas to flourish, where, shaped by the sea, our maritime history connects with the present.
We provide a platform for leading voices in ocean conservation through special events with global experts and Ocean Elders like Sylvia Earle and James Cameron.
We engage with the next generation of ocean influencers through online learning and outreach programs like the Ocean Youth Summit and Women in STEM.
Through online programs, Members talks and special events like Climate Action Week, we connect the public to the stories and actions that advance a sustainable ocean future.
We advance discussions around the future of Australia’s Blue Economy by working with partners to produce sector-specific events in future fisheries, sustainable solutions, ocean innovation and governance. Currently, these include the Ocean Impact Organisation Innovation PitchFest, Banksia Foundation NSW Sustainability Awards, Ocean Lovers Alliance Blue Solutions Summit, Ocean Decade Australia Ocean Business Leaders’ Summit, and the Aquaculture Stewardship Council/Marine Stewardship Council Sustainable Seafood Awards.
