Dr Roland Leikauf
Curator Immigration
In the Australian National Maritime Museum, Dr Roland Leikauf is the expert for all things migration. Roland migrated to Australia in 2021, becoming both a migrant and a migration curator.
In Germany, Roland worked for different museums as a curator and historian, among them the Haus der Geschichte / House of History, Germany’s largest state-financed museum and the Hadamar Memorial Museum which commemorates the murders perpetrated under Nazi ‘Euthanasia’.
Roland is an experienced freelance historian, and currently serves on the committee of the Professional Historians Association (NSW & ACT). His PhD “Welcome to my Bunker”, which was published by transcript publishing, analysed the strategies of memory construction on the websites of veterans of the Second War in Indochina.
